Effective Ideas for Instagram Stories Content
Thursday, November 5, 2020 10:37 PM
We have covered how effective Instagram Stories can be in earlier posts on this blog, but we haven’t really suggested any ideas for effective content. These short-form videos are the perfect way to share informal stories that will inform, educate and entertain your followers and customer base.
There are over 1 billion active users of Instagram each month with over half of these producing Instagram Stories on a daily basis. Creating this content is a perfect reminder alert for your brand that you can’t afford to miss out on. Building engaging content for this medium can be time consuming but in the end is worth the effort. As a video production company, we often get involved with the production of social media videos for our clients. Here are some ideas for content that you can share…
Behind The Scenes
Viewers love to see what goes on behind the scenes of their favourite brands and companies they follow. It adds a human aspect to an otherwise corporate face. Capturing fun moments with staff members, creating a ‘how-to’ video or backstage clips from a conference can all make for interesting content. The key to success is to remember be vulnerable yet authentic while making your Stories.
Product Demos
Try creating a quick demonstration of one of your products. Always keep it short, around two minutes or less, to grab the attention of the viewer. A product demo will help people learn more about what you produce and they will be able to determine if it is a good fit for them. Try mixing still photos with the video footage and encourage your customers to share some content of how they are using your product. This leads nicely into the next idea — User Generated Content…
User Generated Content, or UGC
A really effective way to showcase your brand on Instagram Stories is to share user generated content on your feed. Encourage your clients and customers to share how they are using your products or services and build some posts around their experiences. Always remember to tag them in your posts as this encourages brand loyalty.
User Surveys
Instagram has built-in question tools that you can use to create a simple survey. These type of posts encourage user engagement. These can be created very easily in a matter of minutes so you don’t have to wait for your video production company to finish editing your social media video before you can start posting content.
DIY
Another way to get started quickly is to shoot some content on your phone and make use of the built-in filters that come with the app. Instagram Stories boasts a number of fun filters such as Boomerang and Superzoom. These can instantly add a fun effect to your video and can be achieved in a couple of minutes. Sharing content on the fly is a great way to get started and then once you are up and running on Instagram Stories you can engage in the services of a video production company to assist with creating a video marketing plan tailored specifically for this platform.
